The SAM indoor emergency warning unit is a receiver designed for use within cable television systems. The receiver operates independently of the cable subscriber's TV set. In fact, the receiver operates even when no television is present. The only connections required are those to the cable TV system and to a 117 volt power source that is backed up with an optional rechargeable battery.

The CEMS-0500 is a value priced character generator that also offers audio and video switching circuitry and  control relays. It accepts data and audio inputs from the MIP-921^e EAS encoder/decoder. When activated, it automatically creates video text of the EAS message.
