  • Port #1 on the HU-961 is your printer port. This port is a serial port for a serial printer.  On Page 8 of your HU-961 manual, item #7 details the setting for your serial printer. Your printer should set at 8 data bits, no parity, one stop bit and 1200 baud.  The cable that you use to connect a serial printer to the HU-961 needs to be a DB9 female to a DB25 male and must be an AT to Hayes Modem.  This is a null modem cable.  Pin 2 on the 9 pin plug goes to Pin 3 on the 25 pin plug and  Pin 3 on 9 pin plug goes to Pin 2 on the 25 pin plug.
  • If you do not have a serial printer, you can use a parallel printer. However, to do this, you will need a serial to parallel converter setup for 1200 baud, 8 data bits, no parity and one stop bit.  This converter normally plugs directly into the parallel printer.  The cable used to connect the converter to the HU-961 is a DB9 female to a DB25 male AT to Serial Printer.  This cable is a straight through cable which means Pin 2 on the 9 pin plug connects to Pin 2 on 25 pin plug and Pin 3 on 9 pin plug connects to Pin 3 on 25 pin plug.
